NMU Offers 'The Other Michigan' Summer Camp
Northern Michigan University invites 10th-12th grade students to discover the wonders and complexities of the Upper Peninsula through its "The Other Michigan" residential summer program. The camp runs July 24-30.
NMU faculty members will guide students to a mining site, ghost towns that were once booming cities, UP parks and recreation areas and unique environmental features including watersheds, flora and fauna. Students will learn about social and cultural change in the region. They will stay in NMU residence halls, eat at campus dining facilities and have access to the university's technology and facilities.
The $550 registration covers room and board and transportation for field experiences. To register, visit http://www.nmu.edu/other-michigan. For event questions, contact Lisa Mattson or Chris Standerford at 906-227-2002 or seaborg@nmu.edu.
