Northern Michigan University's Recreational Services will offer two summer day camps: Wildcat Kids for ages 5 years to 5th grade; and Wildcat Tweens for 6th grade and older. Both will run June 13-Aug. 18. Hours are 6:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with programmed time from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Space is limited and registration is required a week in advance of the participation dates.

Wildcat Kids is a traditional summer camp packed with games, crafts, swimming, climbing, skating and special events. It includes Eco Camp, which uses games and hands-on activities to teach children about the environment. There is also an emphasis on skill development, teamwork and sportsmanship. NMU's indoor and outdoor spaces accommodate a wide range of activities. 

Wildcat Tween Camp provides older children with a chance to learn valuable life skills, make new friends, develop character and discover new interests. Participants will work to earn four paws--leadership, community, wellness and teamwork--to achieve the overall Wildcat Award. Activities include swimming, sports games, crafts, outdoor adventures, climbing wall, ice skating, kayaking and canoeing in the pool, team building initiatives and more. There will also be weekly field trips on Wednesdays.
