Lindblom Elected National VP of College Democrats

Monday 25, 2016

NMU student Ellen Lindblom of Negaunee was elected national vice president of the College Democrats of America. The group held its annual convention in Philadelphia, just ahead of the Democratic National Convention. Lindblom also was recently elected to serve as a delegate to the DNC, so she will be attending the convention in two capacities.

“I am so excited to represent my fellow democrats in Northern and Upper Michigan at the DNC,” wrote Lindblom on a gofundme.com profile seeking assistance with travel expenses to Philadelphia. “This has been a dream of mine ever since I started paying attention to politics. I always said, ‘If I ever go to the DNC, I can die happy.’ Just ask my mom!

“I have been a member of College Democrats ever since I began my collegiate studies at Northern Michigan University. From there, I became the president of the NMU College Dems, a regional director through the Michigan Federation of College Democrats for Northern and Upper Michigan, and a member of the Marquette County Executive Committee. My newest adventure includes being the president of our State Federation of College Democrats and an intern for the Lon Johnson for Congress Campaign in Michigan's 1st Congressional District.”
