NMU alumnus and former North Wind reporter Steve Foley has returned to Northern Michigan Review, a daily newspaper publishing company based in Petoskey. He earned a bachelor’s degree in public relations with a minor in broadcasting.

According to a story in the Petoskey News-Review, Foley will “serve as a staff writer for the print-focused team, covering health, food, Charlevoix County, Resort Township and also helping with coverage of Charlevoix schools, townships and elections. He’ll also continue doing some photography.”

Foley previously worked for the News-Review as a sports writer after brief stints at the Marquette Mining Journal and the Cheboygan Daily Tribune.  He most recently spent two years in Kentucky as a photographer and writer for the Winchester Sun. He returns to the state with his wife, Jennifer Foley, who also returns to Northern Michigan Review as advertising manager for the News-Review, Gaylord Herald Times and Charlevoix Courier.
