Tuesday 25, 2016

John Hebert, NMU alumnus and vice president of the NMU Foundation Board of Trustees, will receive the Edmund T. Ahee Jewel Award for Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser from the Association of Fundraising Professionals-Greater Detroit Chapter. Crain's Detroit Business reports that Hebert helped Leader Dogs for the Blind, which he serves as board chair, raise $14.5 million for a new canine development center.

He and other award winners will be recognized Nov. 10 at the COBO Center. This will mark the 25th annual National Philanthropy Day, the Association of Fundraising Professionals–Greater Detroit Chapter’s premier event honoring the outstanding contributions that philanthropists, distinguished volunteers and those in the fund raising profession have made to enrich the Southeast Michigan community.

Hebert graduated from NMU in 1968 and is retired from Plante & Moran PLLC.
