Alumni Awards Nominations Accepted

The NMU Alumni Association encourages faculty and staff members to nominate graduates who exemplify the Wildcat spirit through their professional and personal lives. There are five annual award categories and recipients are honored at Homecoming. The nomination deadline is Dec. 31.

Alumni can be nominated for one of the following:

Alumni Achievement Award: This award recognizes an NMU graduate who has established a notable record of achievement in their discipline or profession.

Alumni Community Service Award: This award recognizes an NMU graduate whose volunteer service to his/her local/regional community has been outstanding for minimum of 10 years.

Alumni Service Award: This award recognizes an NMU graduate whose volunteerism, contributions and/or recruitment efforts on behalf of NMU are above the norm, evidenced by loyal and outstanding service to areas such as the NMU Alumni Association, the NMU Foundation or other university committees and programs.

Outstanding young Alumni Award: This award recognizes an NMU graduate under 36 years of age, as of Dec. 31 in the year submitted, who has demonstrated achievements in one or more of the following: service to NMU, professional success, civic involvement, business, political arenas or other notable activities that clearly set the individual apart from his or her peers.

Distinguished Alumni Award: This award recognizes an NMU graduate who has documented exceptional achievement in his/her profession and has made transformative contributions to society, their discipline or profession. This is the highest honor the NMU Alumni Association can award.
