Cartoonist Keith Knight Visits NMU
Northern Michigan University’s Platform Personalities will host award-winning cartoonist Keith Knight. He is the creator of three popular comic strips: the Knight Life, (th)ink, and the K Chronicles. The presentation will be at 7:30 pm. Wednesday, Feb. 15, in the Great Lakes Rooms of the University Center. Attendance is free for NMU students with ID and $2 for the public.
Knight’s personal artistic style is described as a cross between Calvin & Hobbes, MAD and underground comix. According to his website, Knight “infuses his work with urgency, edge, humor, satire, politics and race.”
Knight’s art has been featured in many publications, including the Washington Post, Daily KOS, San Francisco Chronicle, Medium.com, Ebony, ESPN The Magazine, L.A. Weekly, MAD Magazine and the Funny Times.
