Vintage Ski Day at Marquette Mountain

Wednesday 22, 2017

Northern Michigan University’s Beaumier U.P. Heritage Center and the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame and Museum will co-host a Vintage Ski Day on Sunday, March 5, at Marquette Mountain. Attendees are encouraged to bring old skis and ski clothing as they “go back in time” for the event.

The event begins at noon with a vintage ski race down Cliffs Ridge. Racers will receive a handicap based on their age and the age of their equipment. A vintage costume fashion show will begin at 1 p.m. in front of the main lodge.

Vintage ski films will be shown throughout the day in the ski lodge. Ski trivia will be on monitors in the lodge and T-Bar. There will also be displays of ski equipment and memorabilia from the Snowboard Hall of Fame and Museum’s collection.

Marquette Mountain will donate $5 to the museums for each person who buys a day pass in a vintage ski outfit.
