Northern Michigan University's Forest Roberts Theatre is holding its first-ever Battle of the Bands. Auditions are being held on Saturday, March 18. To secure an audition time, email David Pierce, technical director and production manager, at davpierc@nmu.edu. Video submissions will also be accepted from bands unable to make the live audition. Battle of the Bands will be held on Saturday, April 22, with the winner receiving a cash prize to be determined.

“I was exploring fundraising opportunities and thought this would be perfect because there really aren’t many opportunities for local bands to be able to showcase their work in a venue such as ours," said Pierce. "So it earns a little extra money for the Forest Roberts Theatre as well as promotes local bands in a way that hasn’t been done in the past.”

The theatre is partnering with Double Trouble DJs to offer full production support for the event. Local DJs will also play music between each band set.
