NMU Presents April Exercise Science Seminars
Northern Michigan University’s 2017 Exercise Science Seminar Series will continue every Monday through April 24. NMU second-year graduate students in exercise science are presenting their research. The following April events all begin at 6:15 p.m. in room 241 of the Physical Education Instructional Facility (PEIF). The public is invited.
April 3: “Biomechanics of the High Jump: Coaching Considerations” by John Evans followed by a 7:15 p.m. presentation titled “The vestibular system’s control of posture in a varying gravitational environment” by Ryan Meidinger.
April 10: “Physiological Profile of Firefighters” by Gabbie McAlary followed by a 7:15 p.m. presentation titled “Causes and outcomes of foot strike pattern alteration” by Jessica Coullard.
April 17: “Exercise and Quality of Life in Parkinson’s Patients: Improving bradykinesia, balance and tremors” by Alicia Denherder, followed by a 7:15 p.m. presentation titled “The effects of exercise training on improving strength and cardiovascular fitness in persons with Down syndrome” by Rachel Greco.
April 24: “The Effect of Ice Application on Soft Tissue Injury” by Brandon Jones, followed by a 7:15 p.m. presentation titled “Motor Imagery and Mental Rehearsal” by Dale Hubbard.
