Al Roker will broadcast live from the Superior Dome during NBC’s Today show on Tuesday, March 28. He is visiting Northern Michigan University as students attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the largest game of freeze tag. Faculty, staff and community members are encouraged to support this rare opportunity to showcase NMU and Marquette before a national audience by filling the Superior Dome as spectators for Tuesday’s broadcast.

Spectators must arrive at the Superior Dome by 6 a.m. Tuesday and plan to stay through 8:45 a.m., when the Today show segment ends. Green and gold apparel is encouraged. There will be refreshments and donut holes, poster-making stations, giveaways and an opportunity to appear on national television. Advance registration is requested at nmu.edu/mc/world-record.

Roker is visiting five universities across the country attempting to set different world records as part of the week-long “Rokerthon 3” series on Today. A crew from the show will shoot advance footage of NMU, the community, Roker’s arrival on Monday and his tour of various campus locations for an edited package to air during the broadcast.
