Tuesday 10, 2017
The Northern Michigan University music department will host a concert featuring Kardemimmit at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, in Reynolds Recital Hall. This free concert is part of the Beaumier Folk Music Series.
Kardemimmit is a Finnish folk group consisting of four women who play the kantele, the Finnish national instrument. The group’s original pieces take a modern approach to traditional Finnish, Eastern European and Scandinavian music. The group was founded in 1999 and has released four albums. The concert is part of a week-long residency.
