Soprano Student Recital at NMU Nov. 1
Northern Michigan University’s Music Department will present soprano Cheyenne Kaufman in her senior recital. The free performance will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, in Reynolds Recital Hall.
Kaufman will perform three short German pieces by Clara Schumann, a French art song by Erik Satie and a song about an old lady reflecting on her life by Mary Margaret Vinmont. Other selections include a two-song cycle by Claude Debussy, a duet from the French opera Lakmé by Leo Delibes, three arias by Vincenzo Bellini and an aria from the Italian opera La Favorita by Gaetano Donizetti.
Kaufman is pursuing a double major in music and speech, language and hearing sciences. She is in the process of applying to graduate school for a master's degree in speech-language pathology.
