NMU Group Offers Free Tax Help

Tuesday 20, 2018

Northern Michigan University’s Beta Alpha Psi will offer free income tax return assistance to students and community members. The program is offered from 5-7 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday through April 12, with the exception of spring break week March 5-9, in the University Center Trading Lab.

Volunteers from NMU’s Beta Alpha Psi organization are certified through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program. VITA is a program sponsored by the International Revenue Service. According to Beta Alpha Psi president Shelby Talsma, “VITA provides an opportunity for students to give back to the community while gaining practical accounting service.”

Beta Alpha Psi is a student organization that helps to aid in the professional development of students in the accounting, finance and computer informational systems programs at NMU. This is the sixth year that Beta Alpha Psi has provided this service.
