Former NMU Coach, NFL Player Dies

Bill Rademacher, who played in the NFL before becoming head football coach at NMU, has died. He was 75. Rademacher coached the Wildcats from 1978-82, posting a record of 37-16. He was an assistant on staff prior to that, including the 1975 season, when Northern won the Division II national championship. Rademacher played wide receiver and defensive back at Menominee High School, NMU (1960-63) and professionally with the New York Jets and Boston Patriots. He was a member of the Super Bowl III-winning Jets. Rademacher was inducted into the NMU and U.P. Sports Hall of Fames. To see the "Detroit News" story announcing his death, click here.
