Amorette Languell - Department of Music

Amorette Languell teaches courses focused in elementary music education, classroom instruments, aural skills, and music and society.  She has presented her research at the College Music Society National Conference, the Society for Music Teacher Education Research Symposium, the National Association for Music Education Music Research and Teacher Education National Conference, the Desert Skies Research Symposium, the National Association for Music Education Eastern Division Conference, and several state music conferences. She has a bachelor's degree from Central Connecticut State University, master's from 
Western Connecticut State University and Ph.D. from the University of Arizona. 

Amorette’s research interests include music teacher preparation for urban, suburban, and rural teaching settings, further exploration of gender differences and gender non-conformity among band students, exploring correlations between personality traits and instrument choice, and in-depth study of the lived experiences of drum and bugle corps ensemble member.
