James Strain
Percussion and Music History Professor
Dr. James Strain teaches applied lessons in percussion, including keyboard percussion as well as commercial drumset styles, music theory, sight singing and ear training, and conducts the Northern Michigan University percussion ensemble. His duties include assisting with the Pride of the North NMU Marching Band and the NMU Pep Band. He has a D.M.A. from the Eastman School of Music.
