NMU Orchestra Auditions and Instruments - Department of Music

Audition Information

Open auditions are between 4 - 6:30pm the first Tuesday of each semester. A sign-up sheet for an audition time is available on the first floor of the Thomas Fine Arts building one week before classes begin. You may also contact the director (information below) to sign-up for an audition time.

Requirements: 90 seconds of a prepared solo and a two-octave chromatic scale.

Returning students: record your audition and post it to YouTube/Vimeo/Google Video and email the link to the conductor before the beginning of the semester.
 

Locker and Instrument Checkout

Lockers for instrument storage can be obtained by visiting the Department of Music office in TFA 102.

String instruments (violin/viola/cello/bass) are also available for checkout through the director.
