A degree evaluation is a listing of course work and requirements that the student must complete before becoming eligible for a degree. This evaluation is prepared each semester for eligible students in order to assist them in preparing for their degrees. To be eligible for an evaluation, a student must be currently enrolled in a degree program and have declared a major, concentration and minor, if required, and have acquired the minimum earned hours toward a degree according to the following chart:
Baccalaureate Degree: 87 earned credit hours
Associate Degree: 32 earned credit hours
Certificate: 16 earned credit hours
Students should review their evaluations carefully with their advisers prior to advance registration.
Please Note: Questions about your degree evaluation and degree requirements should be directed to your academic advisor.
No Evaluation
The following are reasons a student would not receive a degree evaluation:
- student does not have enough earned hours
- student has not properly declared a major, major concentration and/or minor if required
- student has not checked their NMU email
- secondary educational provisional certificate students, elementary educational provisional certificate students, undeclared students, non-degree seeking students, college transitions program students, and corrections officer certificate program students will not receive a degree evaluation
Currently enrolled students can check their earned hours, major/minor, and address information on mynmu.nmu.edu. You will need your NMU (e-mail) user ID and password. Students who do not know or have forgotten their NMU user ID and password can go to myuser.nmu.edu to look it up or reset it.
A student who is eligible for an evaluation and does not receive one should contact the Registrar's Office by e-mail at degaudit@nmu.edu.
Graduating
Students who have registered for graduation have already had their records reviewed to determine graduation eligibility and will not be sent another evaluation.
