Northern Now: Tessman Talks NMU History

Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at 7 p.m. EST

Alumni and friends are invited to join President Brock Tessman virtually for a special 125th-anniversary edition of Northern Now. During this memorable event, President Tessman will explore NMU’s rich history alongside esteemed guests with deep ties to the University. It’s the perfect opportunity for alumni to reflect on their time at NMU, reconnect with fellow Wildcats, and celebrate the legacy of our alma mater.

Panelists include:

  • Dave Bonsall ‘74 BS, retired from NMU after working for 38 years in Housing & Residence Life and the Center for Student Enrichment
  • Carol Johnson ’81 BS, ’89 MBA, Dean of the NMU College of Business
  • Joe Lubig ’91 BS, ’00 MAE, Associate Dean of the School of Education, Leadership & Public Service at NMU
  • Jeff Korpi '03 BS, '15 MS, Associate Vice President of Northern Student Experience
  • Jes Thompson ’01 BS, Assistant Vice President for Sustainability at NMU
  • Dana Hinckley, current education student and ASNMU President 

Questions will be taken live during the event via the Q&A function on Zoom, and alumni can submit questions ahead of time during registration. Registration is required. Once alumni and friends register, they will receive the Zoom link to join the conversation.

This casual evening gathering is open to all alumni, faculty, staff, and friends of NMU to reminisce about your time on campus and network with fellow Wildcats.

Appetizers, beer, wine, and soda will be provided and a cash bar will be available. The event is free and open to all alumni and friends. Space is limited, so please RSVP below.

Enjoy an evening of networking, delicious food, and camaraderie as we come together to celebrate all things NMU. This gathering is free to attend, and all alumni, friends, and current students are welcome.

Celebrate Yooper Weekend at Neuroscience Group Field when the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers take on their in-state rival the Beloit Sky Carp! Show up early on Sunday to get your hands on one of the Cooper Pratt, Yooper themed, bobbleheads that will be given away to the first 1,000 fans and stay late each day to watch high school teams from the Upper Peninsula showcase their talents against one another after each Timber Rattlers game.
