Safe Walk Program
The NMU Police Department offers a Safe Walk Program during the hours of darkness, seven days a week. You will be asked to state your name and location. An attendant will be dispatched to meet you at your location. This service is available to all students, employees, and visitors while they are on the NMU campus. The attendant will take you to any destination on the NMU campus. A log of all assistance will be maintained and will include such pertinent information as locations and callers' names. Students and employees will be required to show their ID cards and visitors to campus can use their driver's license for identification purposes. Attendants can be identified by their red jackets. Attendants are Police Department student employees who are carefully screened and selected.
