The bachelor degree is a direct ladder from the associate program in building technology. Additional courses focus on higher level theory, critical thinking, and problem-solving-based concepts, which further prepare you for employment as a construction manager and will increase the opportunity to advance your career. As a construction manager you will confer with owners, contractors or design professionals to discuss and resolve issues on the job site. You will also plan, schedule and coordinate activities to meet deadlines, while preparing budget estimates, progress reports and daily activity logs. 

Students who graduate with a degree in construction management have career opportunities such as Field Engineer, Planner, Site Supervisor, Scheduler, Cost Estimator, Assistant Project Manager, Safety Coordinator, Logistics Manager, Environmental Controller, Building Inspector and General Contractor.

Associate of Applied Science

The associate degree will prepare graduates for employment in a variety of settings. As an industry professional, you will coordinate and schedule the activities of construction, as well as read specifications and blueprints to determine construction requirements or plan procedures. You will inspect work progress, equipment, and construction sites for quality and safety and perform site layout tasks using survey equipment. 

Graduates from the building technology program have a wide variety of career options which include, but are not limited to, general contractor, carpenter, building inspector, building maintenance technician, material salesperson, concrete finisher, construction foreman, assistant estimator, survey and more.

Admission requirements include:

  • Completion of supplemental application
  • 7 years of documented construction industry experience (or equivalent)
  • 3 professional referrals
