Gary Stark

Associate Professor - Management

Dr. Gary Stark holds a Ph.D. from University of Nebraska and BS & MBA from Kansas State University (two blocks from where he grew up in Manhattan, Kansas). His research tends to fall into two areas -- research on teaching and learning and research at the boundaries of Organizational Behavior and Social Psychology. He enjoys teaching in the disciplines and sub-disciplines of Organizational Behavior, Human Resource Management, and Research Methods.
Gary has short cases published in three different books, and in journals as varied as Journal of Management Education, International Journal of Business Administration, Educause Quarterly, and Academy of Management Learning & Education.

Gary is OB1 (essentially, Vice President and “Keeper of the Magic”) for the Management & Organizational Behavior Teaching Society, an international society of approximately 500 members, and has been Program Chair for their annual conference. He is also an Associate Editor for Organization Management Journal.

His Hobbies/Interests include kayaking on Lake Superior and the Marquette area’s beautiful rivers and inland lakes, singing, racquetball, hiking Marquette’s beautiful woods/river trails and downhill and XC skiing. Dr. Stark loves snow, cool weather, and teaching. You will rarely see a more animated professor.
