Opportunities to get involved
The College of Business has many special student program opportunities that can enhance your experience beyond textbook learning.
Student Organizations
The College of Business has student chapters of business-oriented student organizations that provide students with opportunities and experiences that enhance and support their education.
Mentorship Program
This program brings students, alums, and friends of the College together for an exchange of information on education, professionalism, and aspirations. This program allows students in our geographic location to obtain valuable advice and insights from business professionals. A long term one-on-one relationship allows students to build a trusting relationship with their mentor and provides opportunities to seek career, personal, and life advice from them.
New Business Venture Competition
Open to all NMU students regardless of your major. Students will compete as individuals, or as teams of two to five members to develop a business plan that will be demonstrated before a panel of judges. Cash prizes and business consultation awards.
The Superior Fund
In fall 2006, NMU’s College of Business began operating the student-managed investment fund, named the Superior Fund. The fund started with an initial sum of $200,000 and realized a profit in its first year.
