Academic Programs
The NMU College of Business has two different options for students looking to explore an education in marketing:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Minor
Where A Marketing Degree Can Take You
Graduates in Marketing have a wide range of career options. Among the choices are the following possibilities: e-commerce, marketing manager, product or brand manager, retail store buyer, research analyst, sales representative and advertising account executive.
Program Major
This major provides a theoretical base as well as working applications of marketing. Growing domestic and global populations, increasing demands for a wide range of products and services in modern society, and technology and media advancements stress the need for marketing professionals who understand the operations and problems associated with getting goods and services from the producer to the user.
Program Minor
A minor in marketing provides business and non-business students with an introduction to the theories, concepts, and issues, both domestic and global, which are relevant to those in a wide range of careers. Through this minor, students have the option of choosing electives that best meet their personal interests. Entering the workforce with a minor in marketing prepares students with an understanding of the market economy, whether to focus on the final consumer or the industrial buyer.
