Northern Michigan University’s purpose is to create alumni – and now alumni are creators of this issue of NMU’s Northern Magazine. We’ve all shared this magical, moody, inimitable place. Wondered at technicolor trees from Sugarloaf’s summit, braced through blizzards to class, flung into frigid waters on the first warm day….Now we pay tribute to Marquette and the Upper Peninsula — its weird, wild, wonderful spirit — and the effects that linger in us.
