Steps to apply for on campus apartments
- Login to MyNMU and enter the housing portal (found in the Housing and Residence Life tile).
- Select the Housing Application.
- Select Apartment Application.
- Complete all steps of the application. Steps include filling in personal details, identifying apartment preferences, and paying the $125 advanced payment.
- The date and time the $125 advanced payment is paid will determine the time you will be able to participate in apartment selection. The earlier you pay the $125 advanced payment, the earlier you will be able to participate in apartment selection once it opens.
- Your application is complete when you click the "Click Here To Submit Your Application" button and have received a confirmation email to your NMU email address.
- Watch your NMU email for periodic notifications.
*If you are planning on moving in for the summer and remaining for the fall semester, you still need to follow the above process.
An applicant's position on the pre-assignment list may change as assignments are made, applications are received, and applicants remove themselves from the list. Unless a specific roommate is requested, the Housing and Residence Life Office will consider:
- Date of application
- Lifestyle preferences from the application
