Minors

NMU Sponsored Camp/Conference:

When persons under the age of legal adulthood (minors) are staying in NMU housing for a camp or conference, we expect the safety and wellbeing of these minor children be the priority. Programs sponsored by NMU departments or sports teams will follow  NMU's Minors on Campus policy.  It is your responsibility to be in compliance with University policy. The administrator for NMU camps and conferences may register here.

Part of this policy prohibits minors from staying overnight in a room by themselves.  A parent or an adult of the same gender must be their roommate. This often results in triple occupancy rooms.

Non-NMU Sponsored Camp/Conference:

Camps and conferences housed on the NMU campus, but sponsored by outside organizations, will be provided with the NMU conduct requirements, both for participants (minors) and the staff/volunteers. Also, before housing arrangements are confirmed, all outside organizations hosting minor children will be required to attest that they have their own safety protocols in place, including background checks, to protect children.

*All rooms are equipped with two twin-xl beds & have a shared bathroom unless private bathrooms are requested (Additional $2.50 per night).*
