About Spooner Hall

NMU has seen a high demand for on-campus housing this fall.  As a response to the need, we have reopened Spooner Hall.  This hall is located on campus between the NMU Vielmetti Health Center and The School of Art and Design building.  The goal is to temporarily house students in Spooner until permanent spaces become available in either the Quad (Magers, Meyland, Hunt, Van Antwerp) or the Woods (Birch, Cedar, Maple).

Spooner Hall is building 51 on the campus map.

Simon Moesch, Meyland Hall Resident Director

Spooner Hall Resident Director

Hey hey hey, my name is Simon Moesch and I am originally from Shawano, Wisconsin. I graduated from NMU in May of 2020 with a bachelor's degree in political science and minors in business administration & citizenship studies. During my undergraduate time I lived in Halverson Hall, Birch Hall, and was a Resident Adviser for two years in Van Antwerp Hall, Concert House. I was also active in our student government on campus, ASNMU, and sat on multiple university committees. After graduation I went home and ran for a position in the Wisconsin State Assembly before withdrawing and accepting a Graduate Assistant position in Meyland Hall. I am going into my second year as a Resident Director and have previously worked in Meyland Hall and Spooner Hall. I am currently going for my master's degree in public administration.

In my spare time I enjoy taking naps, eating at local restaurants, playing games with friends, listening to music, watching sunsets by the lake and traveling. Feel free to stop into my office or say hi to me in the hallway! If you're looking for an easy conversation starter with me, ask about my 2 week / 14 state road trip across the US! #GoCats
